Second Grade Sailboats

Come sail away, come sail away... with second graders who spent three weeks working on these large (18 x 24 inch) and whimsical sailboat paintings/collages. Students focused on movement in their watercolor backdrop, using line to show motion in the waves and wind. Then, we used a variety of shape and bold line to construct the sailboats. Lastly, students used lines and patterns to create interest around the border and tie the two together.
