Before the tropical bird paintings, third grade students worked hard on understanding the basic shapes that make up a figure in art (we refer to the human body as a figure in our art work). In addition, we put those basic shapes in motion. There is such a large variety of movement that they came up with - I think I would be hard-pressed to find a more creative bunch!
