Abstraction in Kindergarten

Kindergarten students have been introduced to the art studio for the very first time this year! They are off to a fantastic start. In their first project, students explored the use of line and primary colors (ask your kindergarten artist which three colors are primary!) in the work of french painter Piet Mondrian. The students created their own abstract collage in the style of Piet. Didn't they turn out wonderfully?

Here is a slideshow of Piet's work that we watched together. Check it out!
